"In recent years technical advances and reinvestment in more modern machinery has enabled us to improve the quality and performance of our range of needle felt underlays. In light of recent Global Warming concerns we have undertaken a Carbon Footprint measure of our Envirolay range to give further credibility to the fact that needle felt underlays are highly sustainable, are made from 100% recycled fibres are recyclable after use, highly insulative and therefore energy efficient in the home and now with a carbon footprint of just 345g per kg of CO2 they present themselves as a much ‘Greener’ underlay than any other underlay type currently available in the UK. In addition to the environmental benefits, felt has excellent sound absorption, it allows the carpet to breathe and eliminates the build-up of damp. Also, in the event of a fire, felt underlay emits non-hazardous fumes conforming to regulation BS4790."
